"Getting Ready to Own Wisdom"
Ways You Can Help!
We are looking for volunteers ages 14 years and older to support 1st through 5th grade Mason students in GROW-ing their scholastic abilities and confidence in school. We provide the activities, a warm, relaxed environment and the child’s afterschool snack. A Child Protection Policy Training and formal background check (if over 18 years of age) will be required.
When & Where: Mondays from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. when there is a full day of school. The student sessions are from 4:00 to 4:30 and 4:45 to 5:15, one session per student. All sessions are at 118 W. Oak, Suite 103.
Tutors. Tutors work one-to-one on skills the child’s teacher deems beneficial. The activities are provided by the Program Coordinator. No special training or preparation is needed.
Buddies. Buddies escort the students to the rest room when needed and wait in the hall to walk them back to the room.
Snacks. Snacks are a must when working with students right after school! Snack donations are not only appreciated by the students but also by the volunteers!
