Ways You Can Help!
Our tax season runs from mid-January through the first week of April depending on demand.
Phone calls. Call clients to remind them about their appointment, what to bring, and ask if they need directions.
Greeters. Greet clients as they come in and help them get started on their intake forms while they wait for an intake specialist to become available.
The following positions require completion of on-line training to become certified at your chosen level (basic or advanced). Training is provided and no prior experience is required. VITA does ask for a minimum of 4 hours a week during the tax season.
Intake Specialists. You help clients fill out their intake forms, put their contact information in the database, and scan and upload their documents to a secure server so it is available to the tax preparers.
Tax Preparers. No prior experiences is needed! VITA and our site coordinators provide training and in-person support. This can be done from home if you have a computer and internet access!
